 Copyright and fair use are important terms to know when working with technology. Copyright is the protection of a piece of work, this means whoever owns it has exclusive rights to its use and if it is distributed. On the other hand, fair use is a work that can be used by anyone for specific purposes like education.This can be anything from essays to movies that are used to promote knowledge. As a teacher, it is important to know the difference and know what to do, for example I would ask the copyright owner if I know it's not fair use. I also see myself creating my own lesson plans to benefit me and my students.

The first technological implementation issue I chose was cyberbullying. This is huge because bullying is very present in schools. As a teacher, I would discuss cyberbullying as a class and let the students know the lasting impact bullying can have on someone before I even invite the use of technology in my classroom. If I am informed of a cyberbullying situation technology will be immediately pulled from the classroom and each student will have to earn it back. As for the offender, they will be sent to the principal and a call will be made home to the guardian because bullying has a zero tolerance policy. The second issue I chose was academic dishonesty, this is because specifically with the higher grade levels most of their work is online including tests. Personally, there will be times that I allow notes to be used on tests and they will have the opportunity to do corrections if they do poorly. However, sharing answers with friends is not an appropriate solution if you don't know the answer. In this case, if I have two students cheating off of one another they will be separated and receive a 0 on the exam. I do know some teachers don't allow this on any assignment but for me I don't care if you cheat on a review assignment, I will know when I see a poor test grade which is the weight of the class. 

Throughout the newsletter assignment I learned how to better use Word as a whole. This includes the column function, using word art, and inserting pictures. In the future, I could better improve my newsletter by filling in more space with better information. The skills I learned during this assignment can be used in my future classroom to create real monthly newsletters to keep parents informed of what is taking place in the classroom.

 I have used Microsoft word for as long as I can remember. Specifically I remember in 4th grade when we had project around animals. A requirement for the project was that it was typed, I enjoyed customizing my work and making it stand out from the rest. Over the years my usage of Word has changed, this includes taking notes instead of handwriting them on paper and creating my résumé. 

The ISTE standard that is the most important to me is 2.5 Designer. This discusses how the teacher is making lessons student centered and catering to their needs. This is important because they want their classroom to feel like a safe space and one that students enjoy to be in. If they learn in ways that are authentic they will get more out of the learning process whether it involves independent learning or group activities. 

I think that the term digital native makes sense. This is because, there is a line between those who have been around technology most of their life and those who were already grown when they were introduced to technology. There is a difference between how students and teachers interact with technology, for example some teachers I have had struggled to use a SmartBoard and when it needed to be recalibrated she would ask a student to help her figure it out. However, I feel as though some assumptions for digital natives do not represent everyone. For example, one assumption was that digital natives do not enjoy reading, I believe this is false because I enjoy reading paperback books in my spare time. I think that me and my future students will be on an even playing field when it comes to technology as since I grew up with it I am constantly updating and refreshing my memory. However, there are some things I struggle with because I just started using them recently, but with practice comes confidence.

 Hello, my name is Tori! I am a junior at Florida State majoring in elementary education. In my free time I enjoy watching Criminal Minds, reading, and working. I am a competitive gymnastics coach for ages 3 to 17 and a small business owner. After graduation, I plan to teach 2nd or 3rd grade at a local elementary school.

My prior experience with using technology in an educational setting includes working with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint to create presentations and complete assignments. I also have experience using applications such as Remind 101 and Canvas, both of these were a key factor in my high school education. I also have experience with Canva to create promotional and educational presentations. 

My PLN , or personal learning network, include my teachers, parents, classmates, friends, and bosses. I also utilize locations such as the Student Union or my room to help successfully complete classwork. To support my learning goals I often find myself using Quizlet which allows me to create virtual flashcards and take practice quizzes to check my understanding of the specific topic.
